Size

In general double pushchairs are larger than single models, especially when they're side by side buggies, like the Kolcraft Geo 3 and UPPAbaby Vista 2. The good thing is that this extra width lets them to accommodate heavier children without straining the chassis. They also have other important features that make them stand out, like large pop-out canopy sizes with SPF 50 and windows that peek out; swivel lock front wheels that make it easier to navigate tight areas like shopping aisles a one-parent cup holder and an innovative fold mechanism that can be done by one hand; and 10 inch back wheels that aren't built for tough terrain but are able to handle city streets and theme parks fairly well.

These buggies that are lightweight are surprisingly affordable.

Weight

The heavier the double buggy the more easy it is to move and lift. The Joie Evalite Duo is a great option if you need to be aware of weight. It's the lightest we've seen in our lab tests, but it still has plenty of features, including nice-sized pop-out canopies that come with SPF 50 and peekaboo windows as well as a quick-release fold which folds flat in just a few seconds; four-wheel suspension that can take on rough terrain and a swivel front wheel that makes maneuvering narrow aisles in supermarkets and shops easy. It's also extremely affordable at over PS1,000. It can also carry twins or a baby and toddler with the purchase of an additional'sidepack'.

Flexibility

A double buggy that is well-designed will provide a great deal of flexibility, regardless if you have twins or two toddlers or a baby. Narrow tandem buggies can be used to squeeze into small spaces. Side-by-side models let you to keep the eye on your children and ensure their safety when you're out at the park or shopping. There are a variety of seating configurations, so you can modify them as your child grows. Some permit the addition of an automobile seat or ride-on board.

The Joie Evalite duo is a perfect illustration. It can be used to hold two seats, or even a car seat. The adaptors let you convert from one seat to a double seat in a matter of seconds. They can also easily accommodate twins and a larger child by adding UPPAbaby's"PiggyBack" board (which is sold separately). They come with a large basket and include all the extras you might need, including rain covers and liners.

Tandem buggies are generally designed with your children seated together. This can make them more stable and easy to push on uneven surfaces, but they can be a challenge to maneuver over and up kerbs.  double pram and pushchair  have a wider footprint than a single-seater stroller and may be a bit too long to get through doorways.

Comfort

One of the more comfortable, lightweight doubles we've tested, this buggy features elevated stadium-style seating for both seats so your children enjoy the view; nice-sized UPF 50+ canopy with peekaboo windows; a padded toddler seat and add-on RumbleSeat that has adjustable legs and foot rests, as well as a single-parent cup holder. The testers love the way the seats recline individually by squeezing an adjustable lever underneath each seat. They also note that the straps are easy to secure and remove with one hand. The handle is easy to twist making it easy to fold. It can also be stored with the backrest raised for easy access.

With 30 different configurations (it'll carry twins or a toddler and a baby or three kids if you add the option of a 'PiggyBack' Board) This is a great option for families that are looking to expand with their child. The large basket and soft suspension make it ideal for kerbs, as as in the city. It's also very well priced. BabyGearLab recommends it for kids up to six years old.
